CDHR’s Analysis And Commentaries

Fallout of Khashoggi’s Ghastly Assassination on the Saudis

CDHR Analysis: The Center for Democracy and Human Rights in Saudi Arabia, CDHR, has received media inquiries after the release of the comprehensive UN Human Rights report  about Khashoggi’s murder, asking whether the detailed findings will have an impact on Saudi Arabia, domestically and externally. The unnerving report unequivocally states that “Mr. Khashoggi’s killing constituted an extrajudicial killing for which the State of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is responsible.” This is an indictment of the carefully constructed Saudi ruling family’s 274-year-old Shariah-based system, which is designed to shield and glorify the rulers (masters) and marginalize the subjects (ra'Ä«yah) or “flock.” Full Analysis: www.cdhr.info

Aborting a Retaliatory Attack on Iran, a Prudent Move

CDHR Commentary: Most Americans, including President Trump and his diehard supporters, members of Congress, businesspeople and human rights activists, will agree that the President does not conduct his and the country’s business on principle and/or moral grounds. This is why no one bought the president’s argument when he said he aborted a retaliatory attack on Iran 10 minutes before its execution in order to prevent human suffering. However, canceling a looming military operation with far-reaching consequences should be recognised as a positive undertaking by the President, regardless of his rationale. This is not what has been expressed by the President’s media and political critics. After portraying him as trigger happy bully, his critics seem to feel betrayed by the President’s cancelation of a military attack that would have resulted in more than the killing of 150 Iranians and destroying specific military target in Iran. Full Analysis: www.cdhr.info

$3 Billion and “Greenlight” to Crush Pro-Democracy Movement in Sudan

CDHR Commentary: Haunted by fear of domestic uprising (as they should be) and spillover from the irreversible Arab masses’ revolts (“Arab Spring”) against repressive, backward and human-development impeding systems, the monocratic rulers of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, UAE, are determined to prevent any degree of pluralism from taking root in the Arab World. Despite internati onal optimism and support for the Arab Spring, the Saudi and Emirati rulers invested heavily in derailing and turning the 2011 Arab uprising into unprecedented states’ and groups’ internal conflicts, ethnic cleansing and emboldenment of autocratic regimes throughout the Arab World. Trump and The Persian Gulf’s Twin Towers of Oppression and Aggression

CDHR Analysis: The theocracy in Iran and autocracy in Saudi Arabia (the Twin Towers of Oppression and Aggression) had hoped and are still hoping that President Trump would start a war that could benefit them domestically, regionally and globally despite its predicted far-reaching loss of life and catastrophic economic impact. To their disappointment, Mr. Trump seems to have realized, thanks to the U.S. military generals, that another military adventure by the U.S. in the Middle East will not be quick or cheap. It could cost American tax payers trillions of dollars and cause loss of lives, thus could cost Mr. Trump a chance of winning a second term in 2020. Full Analysis: www.cdhr.info

Trump, the Saudis and Extremism

CDHR Commentary: In this shrill commentary, “Time for Saudi Arabia to Stop Exporting Extremism,” John Hannah (Dick Cheney’s former National Security Adviser) urged President Trump not to“…waste his opportunity to begin repairing Wahhabism’s trail of wreckage.” Mr. Hannah is a long time conservative insider, thus President Trump cannot accuse him of not being an “America first” enthusiast. But will Mr. Trump heed Hannah’s well-substantiated argument against the Saudi rulers’ export of their toxic doctrine?  Not likely. Full Analysis: www.cdhr.info
